Meet Our Staff

Avenue House is available to venue hire for business meetings and conferences, ceremonies and parties. We are licensed for civil marriages, civil partnerships and baby naming ceremonies. Our historic rooms, peaceful gardens and welcoming staff make it a special place for your celebration, with venue hire available seven days a week.

Weddings and Civil Partnerships

Non-religious wedding and civil partnership ceremonies, meaning they cannot include hymns, religious readings or prayers, can be held in Avenue House. We have much experience and expertise and can supply everything from champagne and canapés to a full wedding breakfast.

Naming Ceremonies

Naming Ceremonies are a special way of celebrating the birth of your child and for you to declare your promise to be as good a parent as you can be. The ceremony is performed by a Celebrant from the local Registrar's Office.

Renewal of Vows

You can create your own ceremony designed to your own tastes and requirements, and involve the special people in your lives. There are also a wide range of options available with regard to music, readings and the vows you wish to use.

Room options

Avenue House rooms are normally available for hire between 08:00 and 23:00 weekdays and 09:00 and 23:30 at weekends.
The Dining Room caters for formal meals or board meetings. Capacity 30.
The Drawing Room is perfect for formal dining and glamorous, stylish receptions. Capacity 80.
The Salon is a bright, light room with panoramic views of the lower green and is principally used for ceremonies. Capacity is 35, rising to 110 when adding the drawing room.

Business

The elegant rooms on the ground floor are the usual base for conferences, offering facilities for professional presentations and formal lectures. The Drawing Room is ideal for club or association dinners. If you plan on having a conference or seminar for your business, there is plenty of room for up to 70 guests. The Salon is perfect for a work ceremonies and parties.
The first floor rooms are available for workshops, discussion areas or small conferences, catering for 2 to 80 people. All our accessible rooms and facilities are currently only available on the ground floor.

Gardens

For larger celebrations in temporary structures, outdoor activity events, team building, concerts and theatrical productions, the gardens provide a variety of suitable spaces. The lower green can be made private or more exclusively the lawn of the Bothy Garden can be hired.

Catering

Light refreshments, hot and cold drinks and snacks are always available from our staff and every kind of catering from a basic working breakfast to a full banquet for all types of ceremonies and parties.
